Night Lab: Discovering the values of the Dark City

Currently 99% of all Europeans live in locations where they are unable to see the galaxy at night. This a grave loss, and an obstacle to remembering that we are in fact all astronauts.

Therefor RASA’S Night Lab is producing the Manual for the Dark City. A guide to how architecture, urbanism, landscape and public lighting can be designed in such a way that it will reveal once again the galaxy to the majority of mankind that lives in cities today. While also stemming the harmful effects of light pollution on our ecology, energy consumption and human welfare.

The lab is an interdisciplinary design research project with light designers, architects, urban planners and ecologists, we working on innovative approaches to make the Dark City possible.

The results of the Nightlab were published on the 24th of october, 202, during the 'Night of the Night'.

Daarom produceert RASA’s Night Lab de Manual for the Dark City.
